And here "HE" is...

Ok Ok...I know there are alot of ladies just perched on the edge of their seats infront of their computers so...here he is, as promised...MR. RICK SAVAGE!!!(Holding a portrait I'm sure most of you recognize from our Lovely Mystkate's blog!) Sav was unusually chatty that night, which is not the norm for him. (At least whenever I've met him that is.) He's usually pretty quiet and acts almost a bit shy. But on this night he came out with a huge smile on his face and extremely friendly greeting. We shook hands and I introduced him to Erica then handed him his portrait. I told him that it came all the way from England from my dear friend Kate and he was thrilled to receive it. When I mentioned that it wasnt a recent pic he smiled really wide and chuckled then said that he didnt mind that at all. He said, "Even better...I was much younger 'ere...I like that. I was quite 'andsome back then...wasnt I?" as he stared at the portrait and let out a little chuckle. He was beaming from ear to ear and thanked me for bringing it to him.
I apologized for dragging him out from the dressing room since he had tripped and hurt himselfand asked him how he was feeling. He scrunched up his face like "it was nothing" and said that he was fine, "all in the nature of Rock N Roll" he said. Then said it wasnt a problem at all,he was happy to come out and say Hello. I also asked him how his back was...that I had heard he injured it several months ago and he said it was "fine, thank you" (with a smile like he was suprised that I was concerned) and commented that he hadnt hurt in on stage or anything but he had to be more careful, nontheless.
We posed for the above pic then exchanged hugs (Erica too) and then he graciously said Goodbye and again thanked us for the portrait and some guy(DefLep security) escorted him back to the dressing rooms again.
And thats about it guys....that was our little encounter with SAV!!! I hope it was worth the wait...Next up...a certain Irishman...and I don't mean VIV, can you guess who???? LOL

The Saga Continues.....

I'm back again to fill you in on the rest of our amazing evening...sorry I made you guys wait...Again!!! I've posted our pics with Mr. Collen (as you can see).
Erica was so excited!! And the fact that Phil had said he remembered her and how much she had grown up thrilled her...as you guys can imagine. Meeting DEF LEP may not be a thrill for most 14 year old girls theses day...they'd probably rather meet bands like Linkin Park or Sum 41 or the likes of Green Day...but for my daughter...who's a DefLep fan..it was the thrill of a lifetime!!
So here's me and Phil again...it was pretty cool that he remembered me as well. They probably meet like a thousand people a week, right?? But a security guard told me that they (the band) always seem to remember the fans who keep re-appearing at shows and backstage. Especially when they are friendly and calm and just enjoy being around them and chatting...no freaking out or pestering them constantly. I think the fact that they remembered and were truly appreciative of Kate's artwork kinda helped a bit. So thanks My Dearest Lepmate...and see...I told ya that they would love your portraits and hold onto to them. And you thought they would toss them into the trash..Oh ye of little faith..LOL
Anyway...we spoke with Phil for a bit longer before Malvin came over to us..again and teased us a little bit. Leave it to good ole Mal to be the wise-ass of the evening. What a character!!! LOL
Didn't get a pic with him this time..he only stayed for a few minutes here and there..he appeared busy and didn't want to bother him. BUT...a certain bass player made his appearance next. (Man, if that isnt a dead give-away I don't know what is....lmao)

Hello again ladies....sorry to keep you all waiting so long...but I'll pickup where I left off....
Erica and I were politely escorted backstage and only had to wait a few moments before Joe and Phil appeared behind us. It was soooooooooo cool!!!
They were talking with some people..and from the greetings they gave I assume they were friends of theirs (see pic below)..They looked over at us a few times and smiled :D
They were finally through talking and Joe was about to leave when he was distracted by some other guy...leaving Phil with those 2 guys and some girl. But it wasnt long until he excused himself and approached us. He gave me this look like he knew me and was just trying to figure out how..so I reminded him about meeting in Lakewood on July 5th and Kate's portrait and all...and he got this big smile on his face and said, "Oh yeah...I memba now...great to see you again. 'Ow are you?"and we shook hands.
The three of us chatted for a bit and I mentioned that Erica had wanted to meet Rory...lol...I think I embarassed her...LOL. Phil told me that Rory had just broke 6 foot tall!!!
I reminded him about meeting Erica a few years ago at the NJ radio station WDHA when I won that contest and he thought for a moment and then said he remembered and commented on how big she had gotten..and grown up.
Erica was stunned that he remembered her..she was beaming...LOL
It was so cool for both of us....I'll post the pics in my next entry...stay tuned!!! This gets even better!!!!!!! :D
