HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! (a little late...lol)
GREETINGS to all my friends & "angels"...Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and an especially Happy New Year!!!
Sorry that I haven't been around lately but our family went to Illinois right after Christmas to attend our niece's wedding. Man...what a long. boring drive that was...lol...But it was worth it!!
Almost our entire family was able to attend ( minus one sister and her hubby from Texas) and it meant so much to Rick's sister ( mother-of-the-bride) to have us all there.
We all stayed in the same hotel and seeing as there were 30 of us staying there...we pretty much took over the place....it was hysterical!! There were kids everywhere...all ours!!! he he
This was the first niece to tie the knot so it was really special :D
It was an afternoon wedding on a cold, windy Illinois day ( what else is new, right?) but our niece Marie looked gorgeous..as did the entire wedding party. They got married in an old Catholic church that was a beautiful and romantic setting. One of her nine, yes I said NINE, siblings sang and played the harp for the ceremony. Her other brothers and sisters either served as ushers or part of the bridal party. It was really lovely.
We had a pretty decent sized reception, a bit informal but wonderful!! We danced and ate and really spent time together as a family...it was awesome.
The reception wound down around 8ish and one of my brother-in-laws paid for the hall to stay open just for us with a cash bar and D.J. so we could stay until midnight and ring in the New Year together as a family!!! It was soooooooooooooo wonderful...the kids had so much fun, as did the adults :D
We celebrated the new year at 11:00 Illinois time, which was in reality for us, midnight Jersey/ New York time so we could get back to the hotel intime before the locals celebrated and the crazies would be out on the road....lmao!!!
I have some pics...will post them soon....
Hope everyone is doing well and I wish you the best in 2006..may all your dreams come true !!!!
LOVE AND {{Big}}HUGS to ALL-
LISA
