Its A Sunshine Day!!

Hi there everyone...what a beautiful day it is here in Jersey!! Hope its the first of alot to come..C'mon Summer!!!YEAH!!!
Hope all of you had a beautiful Mother's Day..thanks for all your wishes..I had a great day myself.
Not too much is new around here...same sh*t, different day...LOL...Lots of running here and running there..Alex has TKD (TaeKwonDo) class in less than an hour then have to come back home and eat quickly because then Rick and I go back to TKD for our 7:00 class :D
Oooh, one small bit of news...we MIGHT...be adopting a new dog!?!? We're not really positive yet but I think it would be great..and I, for one, would feel really good inside knowing that we rescued a beautiful, gentle animal from a horrific certain death. My niece sent me an artical via Email this weekend about Greyhounds..one of the most majestic and friendly companions as far as canines go. Since most states have outlawed greyhound racing there are nearly 1200 newly-retired dogs that need loving homes. As of May 14, if foster and/or permanent homes are not found for these awesome dogs...hundreds with be put down each week. I think that's utterly disgusting...there's an association that is asking people to either adopt, foster or send donations to help out in the rescue efforts and I have contacted one of the foster-mothers of a 3 year old male Grey named "Ricky" ( how ironic is that???) and we are going to a "Friends of Greyhounds" picnic on Sunday to meet him. We havent made up our minds 100% yet but we might adopt him...I'm trying not to get to excited..dont want to be disappointed (just in case)...but I'm really looking forward to seeing him face to face.
If anyone wants the link to the website or any info...just let me know..be happy to pass it on.
Ok...well...I had better be off for now..have to take Alex to class...but I'll be back sometime this week to post a little something.
Take care everyone...Love to all :D

HUGS,
LISA

Words for the day: "Out oft ouch...out of reach, yeah- you could try...to get closer to me. I'm in luck...I'm in deep, yeah- hypnotized...I'm shakin' to my knees..."

We have a Greyhound race track here in town, so I've seen lots of these "adoption fairs" here. They are supposed to be great pets. They only "problem" with them is that you can't let them off a leash, unless in a fenced yard. They are trained to chase small animals, and if they see a squirrel or something- they're GONE! :-)
